USPI Advanced Surgery Center of Boerne is seeking a motivated RN PreOp PACU to join our team. We have 2 OR rooms and 1 Procedure room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Pain Management, Spine, Orthopedic, Total Joint replacements. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Job Summary: The Pre-Op/PACU RN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the pre-op and post-surgical patients in a manner consistent with our mission statement. They participate in the development of patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations and interventions. This care includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia. They may have additional responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Director, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, and participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

Required Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
  • Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
